The opportunity

The Design School at London College of Communication (LCC) is looking for a Lecturer to join our BA Design Management course.

The course explores the strategic and cultural value of design theory and practice in the context of diverse organisations. It incorporates design production, process, facilitation, and strategy to tackle social and global challenges and prompt entrepreneurial innovation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with innovative approaches to design practice, with a focus on design thinking and strategic design. The role offers an excellent chance to combine creative practices with business and enterprise approaches, fostering diverse design visual practices in the context of entrepreneurship.

As a lecturer, you will be responsible for the delivery of varied design management units across the course with a focus on creative enterprise, strategic design and design leadership. You will manage and participate in the delivery of student-centred and inclusive teaching and contribute to course development, assessment, quality management and student recruitment.

Your profile

We are looking for an individual with an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification relevant to design for enterprise. You will have knowledge of delivering creative projects in a professional environment and experience in a range of specialist skills needed to respond to culturally shaped design challenges within the context of inclusive teaching.

Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level is essential, along with experience of professional practice in design management or equivalent. You will also be able to cite examples of the creative industry’s future trajectory and engagement with culturally diverse contexts and enterprises. You should also demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of design management processes as they intersect with social justice, the climate emergency and other global social, cultural, environmental, political and economic forces that are transforming the design discipline.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Deyka Hassan, Resourcing Assistant, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk
