The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact on the creative industries, shaping industry engagement with a variety of employers across the UK and internationally to create opportunities for students to develop their careers.
As Industry Engagement Lead, you will lead on the development of industry and employer engagement opportunities for students to gain work experience and receive support from industry experts and partners. The scope of this work will include placement opportunities, mentoring, industry led talks, internship opportunities, part-time and graduate jobs, and various events.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Proactively seeking out and building new industry and employer partner relationships
- Developing a system to manage and monitor industry and employer contacts
- Leading and developing a team of employer and industry focused roles within the Careers and Employability Department
- Overseeing the vision and direction for Creative Opportunities – a platform promoting creative industry roles and opportunities for UAL students and alumni
- Directing industry and employer engagement initiatives, projects and events
- Building and growing internship, placement and work experience opportunities
This position is offered on a fixed term 9-month contract and is a career-defining and rewarding opportunity to step into a role with immediate influence and strategic importance.
Your profile
You will need experience of leading and developing industry and employer relations in a Higher Education setting, as well as good knowledge of the creative industries and the recruitment landscape.
You will need to be able to motivate, develop and lead a team effectively, setting clear objectives, with the vision to drive and manage performance.
You will also need to be able to plan, prioritise and manage resources effectively to achieve goals and meet long term objectives.
Familiarity with CRM or contact management systems for tracking and leveraging employer partnerships is equally important.
