The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an Administration Co-ordinator to join our Learning and Teaching Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator who is ready to take on a leadership role within a team that supports students, empowers staff and drives innovation in learning and teaching.
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Learning and Teaching Directorate administration team, providing guidance, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring that objectives are met in line with university policies.
You will provide effective and professional oversight of course-related administration, including managing student records, producing reports and statistical data, preparing documentation for examination boards and communicating results to students in line with university procedures. The role also involves supporting annual monitoring and reaccreditation processes, assisting with enrolment, and helping to ensure the smooth running of the department.
In addition to your management and course-related responsibilities, you will provide high-level executive support to the Director of Learning & Teaching and members of the senior leadership team. This will include oversight of diary management, correspondence, travel arrangements and procurement support.
This description is intended to provide an indication of the core responsibilities of the role, however appointments will be made with consideration to the overall balance of skills, experience and expertise across the team. Specifically we welcome applicants with skills and knowledge in the areas of academic programme management and finance administration.
Your profile
You will need a degree-level qualification (or equivalent relevant experience), along with significant administrative experience.
You will also be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Excel, and will be familiar with online tools for diary, financial, and HR administration. You will also be familiar with student administration systems such as SITS.
A high standard of English, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a team will also be essential for success in this role.
