The opportunity

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in developing and implementing University of the Arts London (UAL)’s international recruitment strategy, strengthening its brand and profile across global markets and contributing to long-term student recruitment and diversification goals.

Working with the Head of International Student Recruitment, you will support in the continued development of UAL’s international recruitment and diversification strategy, driving the delivery of an outstanding experience for prospective students, from initial enquiry through to their enrollment across pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

You will take a lead role in planning, coordinating and delivering the University’s international recruitment operations across all markets, including digital and in-person events such as education fairs, workshops, and webinars, working closely with colleagues across Student Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (SMRA) to deliver strategic market plans, and manage relationships with key recruitment partners and stakeholders.

You will play a critical role in managing UAL’s network of 40+ international representatives—ensuring transparent, ethical, and effective recruitment practices, and leading on UAL-wide implementation of the Agent Quality Framework commitments.

The position also involves management of two Recruitment Managers and support for the wider team of international recruitment professionals, as well as coordination and management of the network of staff across the University who contribute to the University’s international recruitment activity.

The post will be predominantly UK-based, but some support /travel for recruitment events and activities will be required.

Your profile

You will be an experienced international student recruitment professional, and a strategic thinker with a good understanding of the issues affecting art and design education and broader challenges within the HE international recruitment sector.  A collaborative mindset will be essential to enable you to work effectively with a wide internal and external network including relevant central and College-based teams, and international partners.

Experience in overseeing operational recruitment events/schedules and delivering market specific strategies is essential, as is management experience and the ability to lead and motivate others.

The role demands exceptional interpersonal, organisational and management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across a diverse set of audiences and to influence important internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
