The opportunity
We are a small team of legal professionals who provide legal advice and support on a wide range of activities across UAL and its subsidiaries. Through our legal advice, we empower staff to achieve UAL’s strategic and operational goals in a way that reduces costs and risks to UAL’s students, staff and assets.
We are now seeking to recruit a Contracts Manager to support the University’s Legal Services Department deliver the University’s strategic and operational goals within a stimulating arts environment.
You will work in a team that handles a varied and interesting portfolio of legal work that includes commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment, governance, charity law as well as contentious matters.
You will provide operational and administrative contract support to the team on a diverse range of exciting and innovative activities that take place across university. You will work alongside the team’s other contracts managers to ensure that the contracting process for the university’s activities is effectively managed, that work is efficiently scheduled and timed and that relations with colleagues and third parties are sustained to the long-term benefit of the university.

Your profile
You have experience in dealing with commercial contracts in the public/and/or private sector, a good understanding and working knowledge of IP and contract law principles, strong planning skills, are proactive in setting up and streamlining processes and able to adeptly manage multiple, sometimes overlapping, deadlines.
You are a highly organised and motivated individual who is competent in planning and working in an often-busy environment. You have excellent attention to detail, proficient written and verbal communication skills and work well with different professional and academic staff and third parties.
You are educated at undergraduate degree level, with ideally a background in law. You are also keen to get experience and develop your knowledge of working across a diverse range of cutting-edge projects within the creative arts sector.
