The opportunity

Are you passionate about online learning and creative arts education? Do you want to be part of a newly established team shaping the future of online learning? University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced Learning Designer to help design exceptional online courses that offer a world-leading creative education experience.

In this role, you will work closely with academic teams, media specialists, and project managers to design online learning content, activities and assessments that align with UAL’s frameworks and values, including our commitment to Climate, Social, and Racial Justice.

You’ll facilitate collaborative design workshops, produce clear learning design documentation, and recommend strategies tailored to the needs and motivations of online learners. You will also contribute to quality assurance, feedback processes, and continuous improvement cycles.

Your profile

We are looking for a solutions-focused professional who is comfortable working in a fast-evolving design and production environment and has a strong background in designing fully online learning experiences in higher education.

You will have substantial experience working in digital learning design, ideally in a scaled production setting, and a deep understanding of accessibility standards (including WCAG), learning technologies, and online pedagogy.

Familiarity with virtual learning environments, particularly Moodle, and experience working with subject matter experts are essential.
