The opportunity
Bring your creative and critical expertise to one of the UK’s leading postgraduate design courses at Central Saint Martins. We’re seeking an experienced Lecturer to join the MA Graphic Communication Design team and contribute to a course that challenges what design is, who it’s for, and what it can do.
In this role, you’ll co-develop and deliver an inclusive, experimental and research-informed curriculum for a diverse international student body. Working closely with the Course Leader and wider team, you’ll shape progressive approaches to teaching, critical design practice, and student support—ensuring our course remains at the forefront of cultural and pedagogic innovation.
You’ll contribute to teaching, assessment and curriculum development across the course, while supporting students’ academic and personal progression. Your work will reflect UAL’s commitment to social purpose, climate justice and decolonising education, and you’ll play a key role in cultivating critical engagement with the media, methods and contexts of contemporary graphic communication design.
Your profile
You are a creative and collaborative design educator or practitioner with a background in graphic communication design or a closely related discipline. You hold an undergraduate and postgraduate qualification in the field, and ideally bring experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education setting.
You communicate clearly and inclusively across diverse audiences, and are confident working within interdisciplinary teams. You bring a reflexive, research-informed approach to teaching, and are committed to equity, diversity and sustainability in education and design.
Whether you’re engaged in professional practice, research or knowledge exchange, you apply your expertise to inspire the next generation of designers—fostering curiosity, experimentation and critical thinking.
