The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to guide the future generation of Graphic Communication researchers and designers, and help cultivate a dynamic culture of research and practice on the newly validated MA Graphic Design Communication course at Camberwell College.

The course builds on graphic design’s rich legacy of social engagement and activism, exploring how design can shape public discourse and address emergent, unsettled, and urgent realities. As a Lecturer on the Masters course, you will play a pivotal role in teaching, curriculum development, and practice-led scholarship, equipping students to engage with critical design themes.

Working collaboratively within a supportive course team, you will help guide students through key stages of their learning journey—enquiry, research, experimentation, and contextual design practices. You will also contribute to assessment, academic support, and professional practice initiatives.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in programme-wide initiatives and knowledge-sharing events, contributing to and benefiting from a diverse and supportive Graphic Design community at CCW.

Your profile

We are seeking candidates with substantial professional experience in the expanded field of Graphic Communication Design, ideally with prior teaching experience at postgraduate level.

We particularly welcome applicants with backgrounds such as, interdisciplinary design, graphic and material practices, or immersive/digital media practices.

You will demonstrate expertise in shaping and delivering pedagogic approaches grounded in experiential and situated learning.

You will be able to apply these approaches effectively within both studio-based and site-specific environments

You will be confident teaching a range of established and emerging design methods and methodologies across both introductory and advanced levels of study and practice.

Should you have any questions about the role, please contact Sadhna Jain, Course Leader MA Graphic Design Communication / s.jain@arts.ac.uk.

Should you have any questions about the application process or require reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Christine Crouch, Resourcing Advisor / jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk.
