The opportunity
Join our friendly Library Services team as a 1 FTE Library Digital Advisor at the University of the Arts London (UAL). In this role, you will provide high quality customer-focused digital library services, supporting a vibrant community of learners, educators, and researchers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting users both in person and online with their queries
- Managing library resources and equipment, offering first-line technical support, and guiding users in digital literacy.
- Designing and delivering workshops, inductions, and creating digital learning materials.
- Collaborating with technical teams to maintain and enhance digital library resources.
- Contributing to library projects, representing the department in meetings, and sharing best practices.
The term-time working pattern is: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 10:15 am to 6:00 pm according to the needs of the timetable. During vacation, hours will generally be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 10:15am to 6:15pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
UAL Library Services operates a hybrid working pattern, with some working from home where operational needs allow.
Your profile
We are seeking a candidate with a degree-level qualification and/or relevant digital skills, with experience in a library or digital education setting.
Essential skills include:
- Excellent written and oral communication, with an ability to make users feel welcome.
- Some knowledge of information management.
- An interest in digital technologies, especially in art and design contexts.
