The opportunity
We have an opportunity for you to join our team of Specialist Technicians to foster students learning on the Interior Futures courses across our CCW Camberwell and Chelsea Colleges.
As a Specialist Technician (Learning & Teaching) you’ll be directly enriching students learning, teaching cohorts how to use software through formal teaching sessions, troubleshooting specific issues, and giving critical and constructive feedback to enable students to produce strong final outcomes.
The Interior Futures Technical Team are a tight group of designers, architects and makers who have a wide range of specialist skillsets and backgrounds. We work together to support each other and provide students with the tools to create and communicate a high standard of work that reflects the quality of a UAL education.
As a member of the Technical Team, you’ll work closely alongside the Academic course teams to co-deliver to students. You’ll be guided by the course briefs and schedules to develop and tailor your delivery sessions to aid students to develop their skills to fulfil the unit requirements.
Working across both Camberwell and Chelsea Colleges, you will get a broad & varied experience of the teams and cultures within CCW, moving around the different course areas means you’re rarely sat in the same office for the whole day and no one day looks the same. Whilst there will be a schedule arranged by the Studio Manager for you to follow, there is a certain amount of autonomy within the role and you’ll be able to self-direct much of your time & space management.
Ultimately, the role enables you to work alongside fellow creatives in an environment where development of your own practice is encouraged and supported, and allows you impart that knowledge and experience on students, directly impacting and reinforcing their education and overall university experience.
Your profile
If you have a BA level or equivalent qualification in an area such as Interior Design, Architecture or Digital Design you’d be perfect for the role. A PG Cert in Creative Education or relevant experience working in a Higher Education institution would be a bonus.
We need you to have strong technical knowledge of using Adobe CC software and 2D & 3D drawing software such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up Pro & Rhino, and to be able to use these
programmes in tandem to create strong visual outcomes that will help students to effectively visualise their research to support their portfolios.
You’ll need to have a good understanding of Graphic Design in relation to Interior Design and Architectural practices and how software can be utilised to produce rich visuals, strong brand identity and high-quality professional portfolios. Experience in the architectural/interiors industry working on surveying, research & visualisation would be a plus.
Above all we are looking for a motivated, reliable and passionate individual, who is confident communicating effectively to various groups of people and has an enthusiastic approach to supporting and engaging with students, to enable them to get the most out of their educational endeavours.
Interviews are scheduled to take place w/c 21 July 2025.
