The opportunity
We are looking for a Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Image Practice to join our teaching team at London College of Communication (LCC).
Based in the Design School at LCC, you will be responsible for teaching, administration, assessment, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the BA Illustration and Visual Media course, helping to prepare the next generation of creative and innovative illustrators.
Working closely with your course team colleagues, you will propose and implement actions and interventions that support the needs and interests of a diverse student group, maximising opportunities that will help students achieve their full potential.
Additionally, you will lead and support the development of curricula, pedagogy and teaching across the course to enhance the student experience and expand illustration and visual media across the creative disciplines.
You will also work with the Course Leader, students and colleagues across the College to promote and develop the subject through conferences, public exhibitions and other contributions to research and knowledge exchange.

Your profile
You will be a specialist practitioner and/or researcher who is keen to use your academic and/or industry-based experience to support the development of student work on the BA Illustration and Visual Media course.
You will need previous higher education experience, including experience of teaching illustration and interdisciplinary image practices.
You should have a strong understanding of the contemporary context of illustration and visual media in an academic and/or professional setting and be engaged in relevant networks and communities of practice within this and/or related fields.
You will also demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of your field through critical, theoretical and technical engagement with contemporary image production.
