The opportunity

Central Saint Martins (CSM) is seeking a Support Technician - Publications to join our technical team, playing a key role in supporting students and staff in our dynamic Publications Print team at Kings Cross.

As a technician, you’ll support the learning and teaching of a talented and diverse cohort of students from various Art and Design pathways, including Graphic Design, Fine Art and Fashion Communication.

We aim to offer a welcoming creative environment with exciting and innovative approaches to print in support of ever-evolving project briefs.

You will play an integral part of the team, supporting the Specialist Technician in the day-to-day operation of resources and ensure the daily preparation of facilities and resources is in safe working order in accordance with Health and Safety standards.

You will bring knowledge and experience in publication production and digital printing, using experience of creative desktop publication and print management software and experience of different printers including Inkjet, Laser and Risograph alongside finishing and binding techniques for small to medium-scale publication work.

Within the varied approaches to learning and teaching, you can expect to work with both non-traditional and traditional materials and apply carbon literacy relevant to materials use and production planning to help prepare our students for successful careers in the creative industries of the future.

If you wish to apply for this role, please submit a completed application form. As part of the application, you will need to answer some competency questions to demonstrate how you meet the requirements of the role. The closing date is 2 July 2025 at 23:55 BST

We are keen to attract a diverse applicant pool, and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those who may feel underrepresented in the workforce. We are aware that some underrepresented groups are typically less likely to apply unless they are confident that they meet all the criteria. With this in mind, we encourage you to reflect on your strengths and experience in the broadest sense, including transferable skills where appropriate. In all cases, we will select the best candidate for the role.

If you wish to visit us at Central Saint Martins (CSM) and ask any questions, we have arranged 2 tour dates - Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th June 2025. If you wish to book a place on the tour or have any queries about the role please contact Sabrina Samsoodin, Technical Coordinator Print at: s.samsoodin@csm.arts.ac.uk
