As a member of the Library Services team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and student-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University.
Working collaboratively, you will participate in both front-line and administrative duties. This includes helping with the use of Library materials, dealing with account queries, and supporting students with general purpose software.
In addition to this you will:
- Provide support for self-issue systems, IT and printing.
- Participate in stock-related duties such as retrieving and circulating items.
- Help maintain and care for our collections and special collections as needed.
- Assist with the production of promotional material and instructional guides to encourage students’ independent learning.
- Keep the library in good order in accordance with best health and safety practice and security guidelines.
These are full-time, permanent roles working 35 hours a week. Please indicate in your application if you have a role preference.
Core hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break and with the expectation that you will work at least one evening a week until 6.00pm in term time and 6.15pm in the vacation.
This is mainly an on-site role, but there may be limited opportunities to work from home dependent on operational needs.
Your profile
We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal and organisational skills, the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, in an inclusive manner and who has a student-centred approach.
You will possess relevant experience in a library or customer service environment, and formal training to post-16 level.
Excellent IT skills are essential, as well as the ability to work flexibly within a team, providing support and assistance.
