The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a PR and Media Relations Co-ordinator to play an essential role in the PR and Media Relations team of its newly-integrated Communications function.
You will provide crucial support to the PR and Media Relations team. The role will assist with executing media strategies, manage administrative tasks and day-to-day PR activities. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic and creative environment.
You will support the cross-university press and PR function to drive a proactive media relations strategy that promotes UAL's purpose and the value of creativity. Through this role in the PR and Media Relations team, your work will contribute to strategic communication objectives such as raising the profile of the University, building our brand and enhancing our reach and reputation.
Your profile
We are looking for a dedicated and pro-active team member who is adept at communicating effectively and has knowledge of the media landscape. We are audience-first and evidence-led, so an understanding of how to measure the success of communications activity and how to structure a campaign is also important.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of evaluating media and analysing data to improve impact
- Experience of planning and prioritising work to achieve objectives and projects on time
- Experience in raising potential reputational risks
- Skill in writing and proofreading content for press materials
Supporting close colleagues as well as those across the University, you must be able to collaborate effectively with various teams across diverse professional disciplines. Collaboration is at the heart of this role; both in being a proactive and helpful team player but also sharing information and working with other teams as part of our new integrated communications structure.

Application process

As part of this, you will need to provide a supporting statement/answer some competency questions to demonstrate your suitability. Our recruitment process involves: Application, Shortlisting, Interview and Assessment, Offer, Onboarding.
We understand the benefits of using AI in work. But, if you are thinking of using it to submit an application, we ask you to think about what value it adds.
