The opportunity

UAL is seeking an experienced Placemaking Manager to play a key role identifying opportunities and securing funding to deliver UAL's placemaking activity in South London.

UAL’s placemaking manifesto sets out our commitment to work in partnership to make the places we operate more accessible, equitable, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and prosperous.

As Placemaking Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Horizon scanning for relevant opportunities
  • Supporting the development of strategic plans relating to placemaking
  • Working with academic and professional service colleagues to determine areas with greatest potential for development and income generation
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and deliver a range of funded partnership projects for the benefit of local stakeholders across South London
  • Identifying external funding opportunities and leading on bid development and submission
  • Leading project teams on project delivery, including project and budget management and evaluation and reporting

Due to the nature of the role there will be times when the postholder will need to work at onsite or offsite locations for relationship management and project delivery.

Your profile

You will need knowledge of placemaking with experience of developing successful funding bids in a placemaking, creative industries or communities context.

Project management experience, including the management of externally funded projects and budgets, is also essential.

You will also have experience of contracts management, ideally within a university context.

We are offering an informal pre-application Q&A/information session on MS Teams to interested candidates for this role on 7 March 2025 between 13:00 - 14:00.
Please email Christine Crouch at jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk for the meeting link by no later than 09:00 on the day.
