UAL is now seeking a talented communications leader as part of a new UAL-wide communications function to lead internal communications and engagement with our diverse community of 22,000 students from 130 countries.
You would be part of UAL’s first university-wide communications function, bringing together talented colleagues and remarkable stories from across our six colleges, 4 Institutes and School of Pre-Degree Studies.
The role of Head of Student Communications and Engagement is key to help improve the student experience at UAL. This is an exciting opportunity to build an approach to student communications that spans the university, harnessing the assets and expertise of our college teams behind a shared vision and strategy.
The successful candidate will work closely with UAL-wide and College leadership teams to plan and deliver internal communications and engagement with our students championing UAL and College brands, vision and values as UAL-wide communications strategy. The role will be proactive in providing communications strategies, solutions and advice to senior leadership team and to support strategic outcomes such as student retention, student wellbeing and responding and gathering feedback.
You will lead a team of six and be part of a larger UAL-wide communications function of professional communicators including media relations, PR, brand, strategy, audience insight, creative, content, social media and digital communications. You will be line managed by the Associate Director for Internal Communications (Staff and Students).
About you
We are seeking a communications leader who is passionate about engaging students and has a passion for the creative arts. You’ll bring experience in creating innovative campaigns that connect with diverse audiences, including international, pre-degree, and postgraduate students, across a large collegiate University.
Collaboration is key to this role—leading a team within our new integrated communications structure and working with staff to craft compelling, strategic communications that reflect UAL and College narratives.
