The opportunity
UAL is looking for a solicitor to manage employment advisory matters and Employment Tribunal litigation and assist with the management of contentious matters.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a background or training in employment law and able to work independently and engage with internal stakeholders with support and supervision from senior solicitors.
UAL’s Legal Services Team deals with a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters and the right candidate will be willing to expand their knowledge and assist senior solicitors with student litigation, inquests and other contentious matters.
The role may suit individuals with 0- 4 PQE, however applications from individuals with a range of experience in private or in house environments are welcomed.
About you
You will be an employment solicitor with strong drafting solicitors and the ability to give clear and practical advice and training. You will have experience of handling Employment Tribunal matters (including management of instruction to external counsel where appropriate) and experience of advising on Equality Act and industrial relations matters would be an advantage. Knowledge of or a strong interest in the Higher Education sector and education law issues is desirable.
