The opportunity

The Associate Dean of Research, Camberwell Chelsea Wimbledon (CCW), is a leadership role for an experienced academic who enjoys working with a wide range of people and supporting the development of researchers in a dynamic environment. The role comes with a portfolio of work, and you’ll also be expected to maintain a strong personal research profile.

About you

  • You are an experienced researcher in the arts and humanities and/or design disciplines, with a strong profile in leadership and research.
  • You have experience in leading externally funded projects, hold a significant body of published work and/or practice outputs, have successfully seen PhDs to completion.
  • You understand the requirements of the REF in all areas (outputs, environment and impact) and can evidence your ability to support the Colleges further improve their research performance.
  • You understand the needs of PhD students and can evidence your ability to offer oversight and strategic leadership in this area.

With a PhD or significant and demonstrable research (theory or practice) credibility, you’ll support the CCW Dean of Research and Knowledge Exchange in leading and nurturing an active research community and providing support to CCW’s Research Degrees cohort.

You’ll need excellent leadership and people skills, with experience of managing teams and the ability to motivate others towards clear objectives. Strong analytical, administrative, communication and organisational skills are also essential. You’ll have experience in supporting the REF and making strategic decisions towards research development and growth.
