The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a talented fundraiser with experience in the education, arts, environment or wider charitable sectors, to play a crucial role in achieving UAL’s ambitious fundraising goals.

We are preparing to undertake our first comprehensive fundraising campaign, which seeks to raise unprecedented funds and to cultivate a culture of philanthropy across the University, placing social purpose at our heart. As a Manager within our Development Department, you will be key to ensuring that we secure new and existing funders to help us achieve our key objectives.

You will lead Trusts & Foundations (T&F) fundraising for student support (scholarships, bursaries, awards) and existing social impact projects. You will work to secure grants from philanthropic trusts, foundations and other relevant funders (e.g. Arts Council England and Lottery funders), fostering strong relationships as well as managing your own portfolio of existing supporters to secure renewed grants.

You will also undertake a range of additional duties that will help support your fundraising including producing timely funder reports and updates, attending events, maintaining T&F records and supporting proposal developments.

About you

We are seeking a motivated, intellectually curious, and passionate individual who possess the skills and expertise needed to thrive within a large and complex institution.

You will possess experience of fundraising in the education, arts, social justice, environment or wider charitable sectors, along with proven experience in securing and stewarding five and six-figure grants.

You will possess strong IT skills and will be confident in the use of CRM databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge NXT). You will also demonstrate strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills that will be essential for success in this role.

If you have any queries about the application process or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact the Resourcing Team at Socialpurposestaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk.
