The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Operations Manager to take responsibility for the smooth running of Camberwell College’s key buildings.

Our Building Operations team plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Camberwell, Chelsea, and Wimbledon campuses. We work closely with Facilities, Estates Projects, and Health and Safety teams to maintain world-class learning environments for our students and staff.

As the Building Operations Manager for Camberwell, you will oversee operations at two key sites, driving the maintenance and development of our spaces and helping to coordinate a variety of activities on site. You will be the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders relating to building operations, as well as contributing to the College’s strategic estates planning. You will lead on developing the specification for a range of building development projects and ensure building projects are managed to minimise disruption to other College activities.

 

About you

You will be a strong communicator with excellent relationship building and project management skills and focussed on delivering a first class service. Working closely with academic and technical teams, the estates and health and safety teams, you will be integral to maintaining a world-class learning environment for our students. 

You will manage a small team to support the delivery of activities across multiple sites.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of project management with multiple stakeholders

  • IOSH qualified or equivalent demonstrable health and safety experience

  • Sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, fire risk assessments, health and safety including CDM, the Equality Act 2010 and implications for management of the built environment, etc.

  • CAD experience or willing to undertake training

  • Proven track record within the creative industries, manufacturing, education or similar complex and dynamic environments

  • Experience of collating data and reporting effectively on its findings and managing projects

  • Experience of managing financial processes within a workstream

  • Experience of initiating new process and engaging stakeholders

  • Experience of developing strong relationships both internally and externally
