The opportunity

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic writer, editor and communicator who can champion brand storytelling, readability, accessibility, inclusivity, usability and creativity in all projects.

The successful post-holder will work closely with colleagues on creating editorial content and copy that articulates, celebrates and promotes a range of activities including London College of Communication’s courses, annual programme of exhibitions, open days and campaigns aimed at engaging key audiences.

This is an exciting role within the Internal and External Relations Department, supporting colleagues in the wider College, to coordinate, develop, produce and deliver highly engaging website, marketing and events content for digital and print to support student recruitment, audience engagement and brand messaging.

Note: This role sits in London College of Communication’s Internal and External Relations Department – which will be part of a UAL-wide transformation project taking place in 2024. This role may be subject to changes and shifts as part of that process – but the 12 month fixed term period of this role is not subject to change. The successful candidate will contribute to the co-designing of this transformation, which offers exciting possibilities to strengthen UAL’s editorial outputs as a whole

About you

The ideal candidate will love working with words, both as a writer and editor. They will have experience of adapting tone of voice and tailoring messaging for a range of different audiences with knowledge of, and experience working with, print, online content, and social media.

Outputs from this role are broad – from long form content to social media copy, scripting video content to campaign language. We are looking for a dynamic editorial communicator with excellent writing, grammar and proof-reading skills and the ability to persuade and influence multiple stakeholders are essential. Attention to detail is a key attribute needed for this role.

The role relies on working collaboratively in a team, both internally and externally, with proven experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of staff and stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this position will understand that every element of our editorial outputs tells a small part of the College’s story. They will be as confident editing lengthy complex documents as they are writing social media captions.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Deyka Hassan, Resourcing Assistant, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985
