The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical exhibition Assistant to play a key role assisting in the operational delivery of projects, exhibitions, showcases and production events at Camberwell, Chelsea, Wimbledon Colleges of Art.

You will contribute to the successful delivery of technical and production aspects of a variety of student projects, exhibitions, showcases and productions, such as SHOW, which is our largest final show during the summer and other defined projects, student exhibitions and performance events.

You will provide build, install and de-install support during exhibitions, with tasks ranging from painting to building structures and installing artwork. You will also have responsibility for returning spaces to how they were before the event.

Your role will include monitoring health and safety standards and you will ensure students and staff are adhering to the safe working practices that have been agreed. You will ensure studio and gallery environments are kept safe, hazard free and clean during these busy periods and, where appropriate, lead the students to do the same.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 6th and 7th March 2024.

About you

You will have completed a degree in an arts related discipline or have equivalent experience,  including an awareness of safe studio practices. You will have at least basic technical skills and experience of using tools safely, along with knowledge of the preparation and installation of exhibitions.

A keen motivation to solve problems will be essential to this role. You will be competent at art handling and will feel comfortable demonstrating best practice techniques in all aspects of your role to student groups if required.
