The opportunity

UAL Online is an exciting new division which has been established to enable access to the university’s world leading creative arts education to audiences around the globe. We plan to launch with a suite of new postgraduate degree courses starting from the 2024/25 academic year.

In order to achieve this ambition, we need to undertake a major change programme across the university. Building the foundation for our new operations will involve both the evolution of existing systems for new audiences and the building of new systems, infrastructures and processes across the wider university.

We’re looking for a Project Management Lead to head up the small project management team and oversee the production of our new portfolio of online courses, ensuring timely delivery to exacting standards of quality, both in terms of academic rigour and production values. This is a new role that will create and establish new processes. You will also be the account manager for design and development partnerships and suppliers, and will be the conduit between these partners, academic collaborators and UAL Online. You will ensure that UAL receives value for money and high-quality work as a result of these partnerships.

About you

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project or production manager with considerable experience in a project or production management role, ideally within higher education or publishing. At this early stage in the division’s development, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about advancing a positive team culture, establishing strong relationships with stakeholders, and is efficient at leading and managing projects.

You will have a demonstrable record of:

  • Managing people
  • Managing online learning projects
  • Ensuring deliverables are provided on time and according to specification
  • Creating, analysing and improving production workflows
  • Working with cloud-based project management and collaborative tools
  • Coordinating internal and external resources
  • Account management

You will also have excellent relationship building, management and problem-solving skills and highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, network and negotiate at different levels.

If you have any questions about the role, please contact Anna Wood at a.wood@arts.ac.uk.

If you need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Zele Akhilele, Resourcing Adviser via email at DigitalandTechnologystaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk.
