The opportunity
We’re seeking a Sewing Machinist Mechanic to join our Technical Resources team at the London College of Fashion (LCF). This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of technical services, ensuring the seamless operation of teaching and learning facilities, particularly in the maintenance of sewing room machinery.
Support Technicians play a pivotal role assisting students and staff with equipment usage, preparing facilities, managing equipment procurement and maintenance records, and providing crucial support for budget management. You will contribute to event planning and execution, collaborate on innovative processes and pursue continuous personal and professional development, staying abreast of industry best practices through ongoing training.

About you
The ideal candidate should possess specialist knowledge and qualifications, including City & Guilds Craft & Advanced Certificates for Clothing Machine Mechanics or an equivalent qualification. Your experience will include repairing and maintaining sewing equipment. Experience in steam pressing and familiarity with footwear making equipment will be advantageous. The capacity to apply your expertise and share your knowledge with others is crucial for success in this role.
