The opportunity

Are you ready to be a catalyst for transformative change in the world of creativity and art and design education? University of the Arts London is seeking to appoint an Associate Director Strategic Change to spearhead our change management strategy.

UAL is now at the start of a pioneering and exciting new strategic journey, “‘Why the World needs Creativity’” that seeks to change the world through creative endeavour. Social purpose is core to the strategy and is embedded in everything we do.

As the Associate Director Strategic Change, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to prioritise and sequence areas for change. Your support will be vital in the planning and delivery of our portfolio of change projects, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives, are delivered within budget, and meet their designated timelines.

A natural collaborator, you will build enduring partnerships across the University and its colleges, engaging with staff to secure their active engagement and buy-in for change initiatives. Reporting regularly to the Executive Board and other senior stakeholders, you will illuminate the trajectory of our change portfolio.

About you

The ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience in change management and project leadership, demonstrating a track record of successfully driving complex change initiatives.

You will have significant experience in overseeing a diverse portfolio of change projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, adeptly managing resources, and effectively mitigating risks.

Your strong leadership capabilities enable you to lead teams without direct authority, while your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills empower you to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Your problem-solving acumen and analytical abilities are excellent, and any certification in change or project management would be an asset. Knowledge of the higher education sector would be advantageous.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Leila Farrance, Resourcing Adviser via email USGstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk.
