The opportunity
London College of Communications is seeking a 3D Workshop Support Technician to join their highly skilled and inclusive 3D Workshop team. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and support in both traditional and digital making. Your responsibilities will include supporting student learning, providing training and instruction, and maintaining the 3D Workshop manufacturing facilities. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members, contribute to the planning of exhibitions and events, and engage in continuous personal and professional development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the student experience and create a safe and accessible environment within the 3D Workshops at LCC.
LCC is currently embarking on an exciting and ambitious project, to build a new building in Elephant & Castle. The post holder will have the opportunity to feed into this project and help design and deliver brand-new, purpose-built facilities that will help support and help shape the future of education in communications.

About you
The ideal candidate for the 3D Workshop Support Technician position should possess strong technical skills in working with materials such as wood, metal, and plastics to craft models. They should demonstrate a keen interest in facilitating student learning and contributing to their creative and technical growth. Key qualifications and proficiencies include expertise in woodworking, metalworking, and plastics, along with effective problem-solving abilities and research skills. Additionally, a robust skill set in building models of various scales using wood, metal, and plastics processes is highly desirable. Excellent communication, collaboration, and prior teaching experience are essential. The candidate should exhibit solid organisational and time management capabilities, a thorough understanding of safety protocols, and a dedication to continuous learning.
By bringing your technical expertise, passion for teaching and learning, and collaborative mindset to the role, you will contribute to creating a supportive and enriching environment for students in the 3D Workshops at UAL.
