The opportunity

If you are someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing others and who believes in the power of institutional change, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play an instrumental role in the delivery of University of the Arts London’s social purpose strategy as the Head of Social Purpose Relationships. This is an excellent chance to make a key contribution to our 10-year strategy, “The World Needs Creativity”, helping to nurture creativity, and ensure that it is a force for good in the world.

At the centre of this strategy is the newly formed Social Purpose Lab. As Head of Social Purpose Relationships, you will play an instrumental role in the Lab and our wider social purpose transition, helping to ensure that the university’s social purpose is embedded in everything we do. You will work across teaching, research, operations and external relations, building a network that will facilitate an effective dialogue between the university’s staff and student communities.

You will also cultivate partnerships with key university functions, working with senior colleagues to ensure that social purpose is fully embedded in their strategy and planning, facilitating positive internal change.

About you

You will possess a strong track record in partnership working and collaboration, either within a large organisation or across multiple smaller ones.

You may already be familiar with higher education, or you may have honed your skills in a company, charity or government. You must be able to show how you have brought about positive institutional or system change without recourse to direct authority.

In addition to this, you will possess a range of skills, knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Project management and delivery
  • Consultancy
  • Partnership working
  • Analysis, research, or evaluation

You will be a personable individual with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships that last with an array of people from diverse social and professional backgrounds. A demonstrable commitment to social impact is essential.
