The opportunity

The Associate Lecturer for Informed Practice is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on­going scholarship in theory for BA Animation. The courses is part of the Moving Image and Digital Arts (MIDA) programme at London College of Communication. The post­ holder will work collaboratively within the course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

You will be required to have a up-to-date knowledge of cultural histories, critical theories and contexts in the curriculum, which you will be able to demonstrate through research, professional and/or scholarly practice. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully and engage in the wider research and educational community of the School of Screen.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching ideally (but not essentially) in Higher Education. You will take a dynamic and innovative approach to supporting excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity. You will have a good knowledge of animation and moving image practice as well as an understanding of the application of animation in the wider context of visual communications for instance in AR, VR, interactivity and other new and experimental approaches. You will have an awareness of the global social, cultural, environmental, political and economic issues that are transforming moving image practices.

PG Cert teaching qualification is desirable or equivalent experience.
