The opportunity

We are seeking an interim Senior Lecturer and year 3 Leader for our successful BA Acting and Performance course. The course sits within the wider performance and performance design courses at Wimbledon College of Arts. As year 3 leader you will have oversight of the curriculum delivery and student experience for Unit 9, a 60 credit unit that runs during semester 1 of the final year of the course. The unit focuses on theory and practice.  

The successful candidate will be a theatre maker, have strong leadership skills and previous experience as course leader or module leader or year leader. They will also be used to working with dissertation level students in relation to performance research.

A strong fit for this candidate will be an individual who is proactive, decisive while still a flexible leader and is able to inspire and harness the talents of students whose focuses and ability vary.

This is a 6 month contract for a full time role (though 4 days a week can be accommodated) and the full time role includes 18 hours of teaching per week during term time. We will expect the successful candidate to be on site for the majority of the week.

About you

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in a performance related area, have teaching experience at undergraduate level, experience of dissertation supervision is desirable. They should have strong communication and leadership skills, be organised and understand what makes a positive student experience.
