The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role empowering graduates of University of the Arts London (UAL) to do what they love and embark on successful careers in the creative industries.

At UAL, we believe that everyone should be able to achieve their creative ambitions. Working collaboratively across UAL courses, we enhance students’ employability and creative attributes through experiential learning and access to industry.

As the Graduate Employability Specialist, you will plan and lead a programme of services and opportunities for UAL graduates, such as workshops, webinars, events, and other learning opportunities to support UAL graduates to access graduate level employment opportunities.

Using graduate and employer data, you will develop a solid understanding of graduate needs alongside graduate labour market opportunities. You will need to build relationships with UAL alumni relations, course teams, and communications teams to promote graduate engagement.

As part of this role, you will need to travel and work across a variety of different UAL sites across greater London on a frequent basis.

About you

You will need a qualification relevant to careers development, with considerable experience in graduate/student careers development and significant understanding and knowledge of labour market trends. You will have gained experience working in Higher Education or in a creative university careers service or a company, agency or employer in the creative and cultural sector.

You will also need experience of developing, managing and delivering professional development programmes, workshops and talks for students and graduates.

Project management skills, the ability to create online learning programmes and communicate effectively with multiple audiences is equally important.
