The opportunity
The Graphic Communication Design Programme at Central Saint Martins is inviting recent BA and MA graduates with a passion for teaching and learning who are interested in contributing further to the GCD community to apply for the role of Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) on BA (Honours) Graphic Communication Design and/or MA Graphic Communication Design.
The role may include:
- Mentoring current students by sharing their experiences of understanding briefs, developing creative processes and demonstrating how their work meets assessment requirements and learning outcomes.
- Assisting lecturers with running classroom sessions and workshops.
- Facilitating students as part of other kinds of course and programme activities.
GTAs play an important role in helping students see how parts of the courses connect together, including helping build a sense of continuity between lectures, briefs, work-in-progress feedback from tutors and peers and final crits.
About you
This role is open to candidates who have recently completed their BA or MA (2021 or later) in Graphic Communication Design, or the equivalent. Interested candidates should upload a CV and cover letter by clicking “Apply” below. In your cover letter, please provide a paragraph or two explaining why you are interested in the role and how it relates to your skills, experience and interests.
Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed and, if considered to be appointable, added to a pool of potential GTAs that may then be called upon at various points during the 2023-24 academic year for short hourly-paid engagements.
The closing date for applications is August 14th at 23:55 (London time). Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in early-September (provisionally September 8th & 11th).
