The opportunity
The Design School at LCC is actively seeking associate lecturers who possess expertise in the areas of audio-visual technologies, sound design, interactive systems, computational approaches, programming, artificial intelligence and the field of projection mapping. These subjects play a critical role in the evolving landscape of the programmes within the Design School.
As an associate lecturer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the Design School. Our curriculum spans a wide range of disciplines, and you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students in relation to contemporary technologies and new media design practice. Your expertise and passion for your subject areas will be instrumental in ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education.
Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. In addition to teaching, you will be actively involved in various administrative tasks related to the delivery within your specialisation. Collaborating closely with other academic staff, including Programme Directors, Course Leaders and Year Coordinators will be an integral part of your role. In the Design School will work towards providing an exceptional learning experience, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration where you will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.

About you
We are looking for dynamic and ambitious practitioners to join the Design School to deliver areas of expertise in audio-visual technologies, sound design, interactive systems, computational approaches, programming, artificial intelligence and the field of projection mapping. In the global context of massive social and ecological change we are looking for engaged designers or creatives who are interested in working within the university to challenge, provoke, question as well as support and educate.
You should have some experience in design education, though as an entry-position we are excited to meet people looking to start their career in education. You will be aware of contemporary and near-future issues, technologies and opportunities in the design world and maintain an active practice or research profile. The university is actively engaged in industry-facing as well as social projects so you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to broadening the experience of students.
