The opportunity

If you offer experience of working on exhibitions and showcases and are looking to further develop your skills and experience this position provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role supporting the delivery of a lively programme of exhibitions at London College of Communication.

London College of Communication runs an annual programme that showcases the heritage and influence of our students, graduates and staff as well as the future of our diverse disciplines in design, media and screen. The programme aims to attract new audiences, contribute to the positive experiences of our students, graduates and staff, and further build on our external relationships and networks in the relevant creative sectors.

This position is a 1-year, fixed term contract, based on term time scheduling (38 weeks per year). In this role you will be an important member of a dynamic Events and Exhibitions Team, working on the delivery of the college’s hybrid programme of exhibitions and showcasing activities, such as student showcases and research shows. You will have the opportunity to directly support students at pivotal times in their studies when creating professional exhibiting environments for their work.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the organisation, installation and take down of exhibitions, which will involve logistical and administrative aspects, from the completion of relevant health and safety paperwork to raising orders and processing payments and keeping budget management spreadsheets up to date. You will also undertake regular audits of stock levels of materials and equipment used for exhibitions and support the upkeep of gallery spaces.

In addition to the above you will support the ongoing development of the Without Form Space, which is a virtual exhibition space, showcasing the experimental work of students and alumni.

You will also have the opportunity to undertake health and safety training relevant to the role.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Resourcing Adviser, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985

About you

You will need experience of supporting the delivery of exhibitions and providing project support in a fast paced environment, where you have worked both independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision.

Knowledge of/or an interest in creative communications and the arts is equally important.

If you believe you have the skills and experience to play an important part in enhancing the college’s profile and further strengthen our established global reputation we will be delighted to hear from you.
