The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and innovative fashion pattern cutter, design practitioner/researcher and academic to lead Technical Studies on the MA Fashion Course and to play a significant role in the MA Fashion team. You will build on the global reputation of Fashion Design at CSM and play a key role in leading the development of postgraduate study in the discipline. You will be responsible for assuring the academic standards of the Technical Studies and its delivery through your academic leadership and effective management of resources.  

You will contribute to the course’s delivery by providing inspiring and supporting learning opportunities and a highly stimulating and nurturing environment for students and colleagues. You will enhance professional, academic, knowledge exchange and research partnerships to ensure that the course continues to anticipate the changing needs of the global fashion design industry, commerce and society.     

About you

As an experienced and innovative fashion pattern cutter, design practitioner/researcher and academic, you’ll be regarded as a leading authority within your specialist area. You will have an in-depth understanding and personal experience of the relationship of fashion education with the fashion industry, both nationally and internationally. Creative and highly motivated, you’ll be experienced in the challenges of enabling diverse student cohorts to explore the discipline of Technical Studies for Fashion Design, to reach their full potential, and to foster new approaches to Fashion Design practice and research. You will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable using digital media. You will have the ability to lead and work as part of a team, sharing your knowledge with colleagues and students alike.
