The opportunity

This new role is created to coordinate and support the delivery of an excellent student experience at Central Saint Martins. The role is defined by a practical concept of student experience, informed by the overall idea of tracking, improving and enhancing students’ journeys into, through and out of the college. Working closely with the Central Saint Martins’ Associate Dean of Student Experience and Enhancement, the Student Experience Manager will have a focus on student transition, induction and retention. The role holder will develop the ways in which student voice and student feedback is captured and acted upon in the college. Enabling access to student support and supporting good student welfare and wellbeing will be an aspect of the role. The Student Experience Manager will hold the key principle of ‘student first’, advocating for changes within Central Saint Martins’ environment that benefit students and foreground them as trusted and capable co-creators, and agents of change themselves.

About you

You will be educated to first degree level or have equivalent professional experience.

You will have knowledge of the higher education sector, with experience of working with students directly within educational settings.

You will have a demonstrable commitment to equity and inclusion for students from a range of diverse backgrounds.

Working across stakeholders, including students but also academic and professional services staff, you will be skilled in communicating and in leading projects that methodically deliver improvement to student experience (or equivalent). You will be confident in supporting and guiding people through change, towards an end goal.

You will be able to work independently and collaboratively and prioritise and organise your own workload to meet timelines. You can plan, prioritise, and manage resources effectively to achieve objectives and take initiative with problem-solving to identify and escalate, emerging issues, opportunities, or risks to senior managers.

(Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification document for a full outline of the role.)
