Help shape UAL’s future – join the Court of Governors

Are you ready to contribute your expertise to one of the world’s leading creative universities? At University of the Arts London (UAL), creativity isn’t just what we teach — it’s how we shape the world. Our six world-class Colleges and specialist institutes champion innovation, drive cultural progress, and nurture the next generation of artists, designers and creative leaders. Our governing body, the Court of Governors, underpins that mission by guiding our long-term direction, safeguarding our values and ensuring UAL thrives in a rapidly changing world.

We are looking for two exceptional individuals to join the Court:

• A Deputy Chair to lead the Remuneration Committee;
• A Governor with significant higher-education leadership experience — for example, a former Vice-Chancellor or a senior member of an executive leadership team.

This is a voluntary role (reasonable expenses reimbursed), but an extraordinary opportunity to influence the strategic direction of UAL, contributing to the education of over 20,000 students from across the globe.

We’re seeking individuals who bring

• Senior-level leadership experience and sound judgment in complex organisational contexts.
• A genuine commitment to creative education and to UAL’s mission.
• The ability to contribute thoughtfully, collaboratively and with integrity — supporting strategic decisions and representing the University’s values with confidence.
• The capacity to engage with the wider UAL community, bringing perspective, empathy and an inclusive approach to governance.
