To maintain fairness and consistency across the University, most new starters are appointed at the lower end of the pay band, with opportunities for progression through our pay and development processes.

How It Works
The calculator converts your benefits into financial value so you can see the full picture. Annual leave and volunteering days are calculated by working out your daily rate of pay and multiplying it by the number of paid days off — UAL offers generous annual leave, and the number of days you are paid not to work all add value to your salary.
Pension contributions are based on the employer contribution rate for your scheme, applied to your pensionable salary. The calculator does not factor in discretionary benefits. You can read more about those on our Staff benefits page.
