The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Specialist Study Skills Tutor to join our innovative Disability Service.

 

As a Specialist Study Skills Tutor, approximately two-thirds of your time will be spent working directly with students providing specialist 1:1 study skills tuition.

 

You will be responsible for associated administrative tasks and will need to establish good working relationships with a range of staff to ensure effective support for disabled students. You will work closely with other tutors and the Specialist Study Skills Coordinator and will participate in activities to develop processes and procedures to underpin the effective delivery of support.

 

You will be based at Central Saint Martins (Kings Cross) and Camberwell College of Arts (Camberwell). You will be expected to work flexibly across other college sites when required.

 

Please note this role is Permanent, Part Time/Term Time Only (0.88 FTE) over 38 weeks.

Your profile

You will hold a recognised teaching qualification and specialist qualification in SpLD support. You will have comprehensive training or a qualification in autism or be willing to work towards this qualification within the first year of your appointment.


You will have experience of teaching students within a Higher Education/Further Education setting. Equally, you work effectively in a team and are able to build and nurture good working relationships. You must be committed to inclusion.


An Enhanced DBS check is also required for this role.
