Earlier this month, UAL’s annual Staff Summer Party brought together colleagues from across the University for a memorable afternoon at the Chelsea College of Arts. With workshops, games, music and more, the event was a brilliant celebration of our staff community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success and to everyone that attended. The sun came out and so did the smiles as colleagues from across UAL gathered to enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, creativity and connection.

We are especially grateful to all the volunteers and suppliers who played a part in making the day such a success. It was wonderful to see so many staff getting involved with activities and sharing the work of their networks and teams. Highlights included mocktails hosted by the GEMS Network and a lively Silent Disco courtesy of the LGBTQ+ Network.

A special thank you goes to the Halls Residences team who ran three sustainable workshops including tie dye, plant potting and block painting. The bunting created during the session will be reused at next year’s event, adding a colourful and personal touch to our celebrations.

Colleagues also enjoyed fairground games, face painting and beautiful henna designs throughout the day. It was great to see everyone relaxing, trying something new and catching up with familiar faces.

Behind the scenes, the event would not have been possible without the efforts of many. Our thanks go to the Events and Estates teams, our catering provider BaxterStorey, the staff networks, all the activity facilitators and every volunteer who gave their time and energy.

Staff were also invited to donate to the University Hardship Fund when booking their place at the party. We are pleased to share that £150 was raised to support students in need.

Thank you again to everyone who attended or supported the event. We look forward to seeing you again next summer.
