The opportunity

As Senior Lecturer in Creative Computing, you will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the BSc Creative Computing. The BSc Creative Computing is an exciting mix of computing and creative practice set in the context of a world-renowned creative university. Students learn to code, build apps, craft digital experiences, explore machine learning and more. Students acquire a contemporary set of applied computing skills covering the dominant coding languages and workflows that support innovation in the digital technology sector and creative practice. Building on these skills, and through creative practice, our students also develop their ability to innovate.

You will work collaboratively within a course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions that stimulate thought, and practice that challenge the canon of creative computing with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusion.

You will be responsible for a year group of undergraduate students’ pastoral support, progress and attendance, maintaining records and liaising with colleagues as appropriate.

Your profile

You will have previous experience of teaching in Higher Education or comparable context, and in delivering a high-quality student experience, as well as some knowledge of curriculum development and assessment. You should be comfortable working with diverse cohorts of students and committed to a teaching approach that understands the range of students experiences within a course.

An MA/MSc or equivalent relevant industry experience in fields associated with Creative Computing or associated subjects is desirable. You will have a strong commitment to the advancement of your discipline, critical discourse and positive social impact and be engaged in relevant networks and communities of practice within this and/or related fields. You will be proactive in utilising and building networks of subject peers, partnerships and collaborations.

You work well collaboratively and are keen to foster an inclusive and constructive working environment. You can plan, prioritise and manage resources effectively.
