The opportunity
We are seeking a theory-informed photojournalist or documentary photographer to join the BA (Hons) Photojournalism and Documentary Photography course as an Associate Lecturer. The role includes actively supporting students across the Photography programme, with a particular focus on international community building at undergraduate level. As part of the Photography programme, you will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical sessions in photojournalism and documentary photography and undertaking assessment. Experience in the following areas is required:
- Teaching in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography or associated subjects in a higher education environment at undergraduate or postgraduate levels (essential).
- Innovative and reflexive approach to teaching and community building, considering equality, diversity, and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment (essential).
- Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College, and University (essential).
- Mandarin speaker (desirable).
- Proficient Capture One user (desirable).
About you
Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.
You will work closely with other academic staff on the course, including the Course Leader.
