The opportunity

The Student Community Activities Coordinator co-ordinates runs and communicates a series of face-to-face and online student activities mapped alongside the student journey at LCF. This gives students chance to connect with their peers, industry contacts, and to gain careers advice. This is a well-networked role within a close, supportive and dynamic team who look after all internal and external communications, events and content at LCF.

The post-holder will find out and collate activity already taking place at the College (such as online talks and Graduate Futures careers sessions) as well as creating and managing new activities where there are gaps, particularly through the Student Committee which is a group of students engaged in developing event ideas. The Student Community Activities Co-ordinator will be responsible for creating a coherent programme and communicating the offer, as well as events booking links, responding to student enquiries, booking venues, speakers and refreshments where necessary.

The role brings together ideas and groups from Internal and External Relations, Associate Dean of Student Experience, Arts Students Union, Graduate Futures, Cultural Programming and student representatives to highlight what’s on offer at LCF and to ensure students have ownership of their events and community.

If you have any queries about this role, please contact the recruiting manager Jo Sait at communications@fashion.arts.ac.uk

About you

A proactive organiser, you will be passionate about the student experience and working with different teams to bring together a programme of events based on what already exists but also responding to student requests and working with them to realise their ideas.

At this level you will have some autonomy, but will be regularly reporting on activity and presenting plans to different groups.

This role will involve running events and co-ordinating many different groups, including suppliers and large numbers of students so organisational skills and multi-tasking are a must, as well as building relationships across different groups.
An awareness and understanding of online and offline communication channels is essential, as well as good writing and grammar skills.
