The opportunity

Join a multi-disciplinary team of Specialist Technicians supporting students in developing skills in real-time interactive audio/visual installations.

The Creative Technology Lab is a purpose-built space at the London College of Communication where students can access staff expertise and the latest specialist equipment. Our team specialises in supporting emerging technologies, including physical computing, creative coding, machine learning, VR and AR.

Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you will help students research, iterate, and realise their projects from conception to installation/publication. You will develop and deliver structured workshops introducing students to human-computer interaction design with a focus on responsive systems and environments, as well as providing project-led one-to-one support to students either just starting their journey in developing interactive projects or looking for support with advanced concepts and workflows.

About you

You will have a relevant qualification and/or experience in a relevant industry. You will have experience in either teaching, tutoring, mentoring or demonstration/presentation. Knowledge of related areas such as Physical computing, Projection mapping, Immersive experiences and TouchDesigner is essential.  You should also have experience managing and setting up high-end specialist AV equipment.

You will be capable of working with technicians and academics in the college to develop and deliver innovative, inclusive teaching to support students of all skill levels and abilities. You will be comfortable researching and experimenting with new technologies, and willing to develop competencies in areas outside of your core expertise with appropriate support. You will be a creative and motivated individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team.

As part of the application process, applicants must provide a link to an online portfolio with no more than 5 projects.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Resourcing Adviser, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985
