A big year for UAL

2022 was a big year for UAL – join us in looking back on some of our achievements, improvements and initiatives across the whole University.

We’re still growing and developing and learning – there’s so much more to come.

We launched our 10-year strategy for 2022-2032 which has 3 guiding policies.

Our Climate Action Plan committed to adapting the way we:

  • Teach
  • Research
  • Operate
  • Work together.

We continued our commitment to anti-racism and improving diversity in the creative industries.

Creative Shift. Decolonising Arts Institute. Black History Month. Ethnic Representation Index. And more.

We also introduced our sector-leading Equal Parent Leave policy.

The AKO Storytelling Institute was created to lead change.

Last summer, we welcomed back in-person shows and continued to share work online on our Graduate Showcase.

We also got to celebrate our graduations in person.

We ranked highly across the board. We became a Guardian top 20 university. Moved up 5 places in the Complete University Guide 2023. And ranked 5th in sustainability. We ranked 1st for specialist art and design research. LCF and CSM both rated in top 3 fashion schools in the world.

And we’re still growing online and in person.
