We are seeking a Research and Innovation Project Manager to join our EU Research and Innovation Funding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of major international research and innovation programmes, supporting collaborations with leading universities, cultural organisations, businesses, public bodies, and research institutes across Europe and beyond.
This is a varied role spanning both pre-award and post-award project management, offering the opportunity to support the full lifecycle of EU funded research and innovation projects. Working closely with academics, researchers, external partners, and funders, you will help shape competitive funding proposals, build strong international consortia, and support the successful delivery of funded projects that generate real-world impact.
Pre-award, you will identify funding opportunities, facilitate collaboration between partners, and provide expert guidance on proposal development, budgeting, and submission strategies. You will play a key role in helping UAL secure funding for ambitious projects that connect creativity, innovation, and societal challenges. Post-award, you will work alongside project teams to coordinate complex multi-partner programmes, foster effective collaboration across consortia, and support the delivery of project objectives, outputs, engagement activities, and long-term impact. You will help ensure projects run smoothly, while enabling researchers to focus on delivering outstanding research and innovation.
As part of UAL's EU Research and Innovation Funding team within Research Management & Administration, you will become part of a highly experienced and collaborative team that supports the university's growing portfolio of externally funded research and knowledge exchange activity.
Your profile
You will bring experience of supporting and managing research, innovation, or knowledge exchange projects across the funding lifecycle, from proposal development through to project delivery and impact generation.
You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment, building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and navigating complex multi-partner projects. Experience of financial management, project coordination, and working with external funders will be important, while experience of contracts and intellectual property arrangements within collaborative projects would be highly advantageous.
Most importantly, you will be motivated by the opportunity to help researchers develop ambitious ideas, build partnerships, and deliver projects that create meaningful impact across Europe and beyond.
A recognised project management qualification (such as PM², PRINCE2, or Agile) is desirable but not essential.
