Associate Lecturer – Film and Screen Studies

The opportunity

BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies at LCC is looking for an AL with industry experience in film curation, festival programming and/or film distribution who can lead on the first-year unit Curating for the Screen. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the preparation, teaching, and administration across our other film curation units – Networks & Distribution and Collaborative Project in Year 2 and Major Project in Year 3. The ideal candidate needs to be able to provide a behind the scenes look at what happens to a film after it is made, giving insights into current industry practices in festival programming and distribution and guiding the professional development of our students.

Your profile

Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of film curation units on the BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies degree. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive to enable them to complete their studies successfully.

Please note that film curation/festival programming and/or film distribution experience is a MUST for this role.

You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director and Course Leader.
