Interim Specialist Technician (L&T) 3D Workshops & Digital Fabrication

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Specialist Technician with significant experience in 3D Digital Fabrication processes to join our 3D Technical team for 10 months as parental cover. You’ll be supporting a variety of Design and Fine Art students, all with differing making mindsets.

You’ll be responsible for providing professional expertise, guidance and advice, to students which contribute to the delivery of course and project learning outcomes whilst supporting students' creative intentions.

There should be a focus on sharing knowledge with students with a goal to make the workshop as accessible, welcoming and inclusive as possible. Safety is key in this creative learning and making environment, and you’ll be required to engage in health and safety protocols, regular maintenance, and share best practice with students. 

Your profile

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in a broad range of digital fabrication processes, including 3D printing, laser cutting and 3D scanning as well as a knowledge of how such processes relate to traditional making techniques.

Evidencing demonstrable knowledge in digital manufacturing practices and processes, the ideal candidate will have professional experience working within the creative industries and teaching fabrication processes.
