The opportunity

Are you looking to build your career in recruitment, HR or people administration? Do you enjoy working in a busy, collaborative environment where great organisation and excellent customer service make a real difference?

Join our friendly and supportive Resourcing team as a Resourcing Assistant, where you'll play an important role in delivering a positive recruitment and onboarding experience for candidates, hiring managers and colleagues across the University.

As part of the team, you'll support a wide range of recruitment and resourcing activities, from preparing interview packs and arranging interviews to responding to queries, maintaining accurate records and helping new colleagues through their onboarding journey. You may also support our hourly paid workforce by assisting with re engagement, claims and contracting processes.

No two days are the same. You'll work with colleagues across the People team, hiring managers and candidates, using a range of HR and recruitment systems to keep processes running smoothly while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and excellent customer service throughout.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop valuable experience in recruitment and HR administration while working alongside experienced colleagues who will support your learning and development. Whether you're looking to build your knowledge of resourcing or take the next step in your HR career, you'll gain experience that will help you grow.

If you're organised, customer focused and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.

If you are ready to make a difference, we would love to hear from you but don’t wait too long to apply as we may close this campaign early if applications come flooding in (and we suspect they might).

Your profile

You're organised, proactive and enjoy helping others. You take pride in delivering a professional service and understand that attention to detail and accurate administration are essential to creating a positive experience for candidates, colleagues and hiring managers.

You'll have experience in recruitment, HR, payroll or another people related administrative environment, with confidence using systems to process information, maintain accurate records and manage confidential data. You can balance competing priorities, work to deadlines and remain calm in a busy environment.

You'll be a confident communicator, comfortable responding to a wide range of enquiries by email, over the phone and in person, while building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the University.

Most importantly, you'll enjoy working collaboratively, be keen to learn and contribute to a team that's committed to delivering an outstanding resourcing service.

As part of this, you will need to provide a supporting statement/answer some competency questions to demonstrate your suitability. Our recruitment process involves: Application, Shortlisting, Interview and Assessment, Offer, Onboarding.

We understand the benefits of using AI in work. But, if you are thinking of using it to submit an application, we ask you to think about what value it adds. AI tools tend to lack the personal touch and authenticity we value in candidates. We encourage you to showcase your unique knowledge and skills using your own voice.
