The opportunity

Are you passionate about Cosmetic Science and supporting the next generation of cosmetic scientists?  Join the team at London College of Fashion as a Specialist Technician (Learning & Teaching), where you will play a key role in supporting practical teaching and learning activities across our Cosmetic Science provision.

As a Specialist Technician, you will provide expert technical guidance and support to students and academic staff, contributing to laboratory-based teaching, student projects and practical activities. You will support students in the preparation, formulation, testing and evaluation of cosmetic products, helping them develop industry-relevant scientific and technical skills.

Using your experience of laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation, you will deliver technical demonstrations, provide practical instruction and support the safe and effective use of specialist equipment and facilities. You will also contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Science laboratories, including preparing practical sessions, maintaining equipment and supporting safe working practices.

Your profile

To excel in this role, you should hold a relevant degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline, or possess equivalent relevant professional experience.

We are looking for candidates with experience working in a scientific, analytical or applications laboratory environment, including operating analytical laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Experience supporting practical teaching, technical instruction or laboratory-based learning activities is essential, together with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to a diverse range of learners.
