The opportunity
The Creative Leadership MA at UAL is a fully online course that examines leadership as both an inventive practice and a relational act. It is designed for both emergent and established leaders who have the desire to creatively reframe what it means to lead in the 21st century. We are looking for an experienced educator with specialist knowledge of creative leadership to contribute to developing this new fully online postgraduate programme at Central Saint Martins.
Unit Leaders working in this model of design and development are the primary subject matter experts responsible for defining the curriculum, developing projects and assessment briefs, and for the authoring of course resources.
This is a fixed term opportunity; you’ll work 2 days per week for 8.5 months starting in early June 2026.
The role is to design and develop the content for a specified unit. For information about this please see the Course and Unit briefing document as Additional documents.
Your profile
We are looking for an experienced educator within the emergent discipline of creative leadership. You will draw on your academic knowledge of foundational leadership principles, theories and firsthand experience of creative methods and approaches. You may have taught management, business, entrepreneurship and/or creative practice and theory in a higher education context, or through coaching or professional development. The learning that you develop will guide students to develop confidence and clarity in their self-understanding as creative leaders. The learning materials you will write need to teach students to innovate, problem solve and develop their own ethically informed, critical and reflexive creative leadership identities and to develop the academic skills for postgraduate study.
As a Unit Leader working in this model of design and development you will be the primary subject matter expert responsible for defining theory and practice within the curriculum and planning assessment. You will work closely with a Learning Designer to plan the learning experience and materials and ensure that the unit meets the requirements of our flexible model. You’ll be ready to design dynamic and engaging learning activities for globally dispersed students and to bring in guest speakers, diverse references and case studies to the course materials. You will be willing to present / appear in videos and podcasts and other media content.
You’ll have good team working skills and be ready to work in fast paced and highly collaborative production environment. You don’t need extensive experience of online teaching and learning, but you do need to be open to the advantages of flexible fully online delivery to widen access to Higher Education.
